The concept that one guy can rock a full house strictly by playing records on a turntable could blow your mind. Yet jojoflores does exactly that. Regular out of town gigs does not stop him from being a resident DJ in several clubs in his hometown of Montreal. And if you head to the corner of Clark and Prince-Arthur, you will find the innovative Rotation Record Boutique, which he co-owns. jojoflores began his career as a disk jockey at the age of 15 and has become one of Montreal's hottest garage deep house exports. Although a track release is scheduled in the near future, unique is the fact that jojoflores travels and spins without being involved in production. He holds down honorary residencies in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Toronto and Ottawa. His entrepreneurial spirit led to the formation of Basshedz in 1996 which co-produced "Swank"- a four year old weekly event awarded one of the¨Top 5 Montreal Club Nights¨ by MixMag. jojoflores won the 1998 Best Club DJ Sounds of Blackness Award and has been rated one of the Top 5 DJ's for two years in a row by The Montreal Mirror. In March 1999 he co-founded "THERAPY", Montreal's most successful weekly party playing strictly soulful underground music. Therapy has had world-renown guests such as singers Kenny Bobien, Wumni and Roland Clark, as well as djs E-Man, Dj Spen, Karizma, Antonio Ocasio, Osunlade, Jerome Sydenham, Slam Mode, Rainer Truby, Llorca, Dennis Ferrer, Nick Holder, Jask, Ron Trent, Jovonn, The Rurals and many more. In June 2002 jojoflores spearheaded a goup, which brought the famed New York weekly night Bang The Party to Montreal. Also, in June 2002 he launched his record label gotsoul with the first release by his friend Osunlade of Yourba Records. The challenge of never knowing what to expect from a crowd is what drives jojoflores to constantly provide a solid groove. His signature sound is synonymous with soulful tracks, flawless mixing and a steady, uplifting vibe.
