Andy
Roberts picked up the DJ habit early in life,
spinning at warehouse parties by age sixteen. 1groove's
Mitch Winthrop discovered the young prodigy and
promptly installed him as weekly resident on his
legendary Rhythm Method Radio Show. He became a
fixture in Toronto's rave scene in his early
twenties, but found his real home in the city's
premier house clubs. His majestic mixing has been
heard at residencies in The Guvernment, Industry,
BUZZ, Bauhaus, in the near-mythical 16 Phipps, The
Living Room, Mad Bar, System Soundbar and others in
Toronto and in the U.S. Most significantly, Andy has
forged an impressive, quality-driven career as a
producer of highly praised house music, releasing
material on John Aquaviva's Definitive; on NYC's Kult
Records (including this show's namesake track, Vinyl
Frontiers - a true classic), on Dino & Terry's
Crash and Vinylpiece and on The Stickmen's Aquarius
label. His tracks have garnered accolades and have
charted successfully as well (in mixmag, MUZIK, DJ
and Discoid Italia). Extracuricular voyages have
included regular radio appearances on 105.5FM, 88.1FM
Toronto and on the precursor to 1groove.com. As
befits a true admiral of the decks, Andy also writes
house reviews for Peace! magazine. Catch Andy
Roberts every Sunday at The Living Room in downtown
Toronto for Hard & Soul Sunday Religion; a party
in its 4th year ! 'Audio temporarily unavailable' |
